Important Requirements for Hospital Signings

Florida law requires every signer to personally appear before the notary and meet all legal requirements for notarization.

Before scheduling an appointment, please make sure the signer:

  • Is willing to sign the document

  • Understands what they are signing

  • Can communicate directly with the notary

  • Has acceptable identification, or another legally acceptable form of identification if applicable

If the signer is unconscious, heavily medicated, unable to communicate, or lacks

awareness of the document being signed, the notarization cannot proceed.

When in doubt, contact us before scheduling so we can discuss the situation.
